Astrantia April Love masterwort flowers fading from dark to white long bloom

Astrantia major April Love

Astrantia ‘April Love’ is a strong and long-flowering perennial with a unique flowering cycle. The flowers remain on the stems for up to three months. At first, they are dark in color, but in warm weather they gradually fade to pale and almost white. This creates a natural and dynamic look in the border. After the first flowering, the plant can be cut back completely. A second flowering often starts in late summer and can continue into autumn, sometimes even until November. This makes Astrantia ‘April Love’ a very early and long-flowering variety with high ornamental value. This masterwort grows best in moist, humus-rich soil and prefers partial shade to sun. Suitable for borders, natural planting, and cut flower use.
